“The most difficult part of birth is the first year afterwards. It is the year of travail – when the soul of a woman must birth the mother inside her. The emotional labour pains of becoming a mother are far greater than the physical pangs of birth; these are the growing surges of your heart as it pushes out selfishness and fear and makes room for sacrifice and love. It is a private and silent birth of the soul, but it is no less holy than the event of childbirth, perhaps it is even more sacred.”

I HONOR: YOUR BIRTH AS A MOTHER

I SUPPORT: YOUR HEALING, YOUR GROWTH AND YOUR REST

I NOURISH: YOUR MIND, HEART, BODY, BABY AND FAMILY

The postpartum period is a mysterious gateway. Alive with physical, mental and emotional flavors of experience that span the spectrum of our humanity, this time is both scared and mundane, energized and exhausted, overjoyed and overwhelmed, brimming with elation and brewing with uncertainty.

Easing into the transition from maiden to mother and “familyhood” can be daunting. This is where a Postpartum Doula’s work begins. To have a guide, a hand, a sherpa of sorts to help blaze the trail can be incredible medicine.ritual Traditionally women and their families were held on the other side of birth by the womb of their village, their tribe, their kin. This is why it feels so unnatural to mount the work of nurturing new life alone.
We crave a tap into the well of generation’s wisdom, we want to drink from the answers that have already been surmised and when the questions are truly ours alone to journey, we simply crave a hand to hold us steady along the shaky ground of Motherhood.

There is no right way. There is no one way. There is your way and as your Postpartum Doula, I honor your journey into claiming your power, strength and wisdom as your child’s Mother.
